Written Work:

 

BlankIsYours publishes a variety of writing, including poetry, short stories, reviews, nonfiction, and other creative pieces centered on issues affecting young people in the GTA. 

 

Submissions intended for both physical and digital publication must not exceed 1,500 words, while those submitted for digital-only publication may be up to 5,000 words in length. Typed submissions are preferred, but clearly written handwritten entries are also accepted.

 

Submission Requirements:

• Max 1500 word count for consideration of physical publication

• Max 5000 word count for digital publication ONLY

• Max 15 stanzas per poem

 

Content Standards:

• Submissions must not include hate speech, slurs, or excessive profanity. Writers are expected to approach all topics with respect and responsibility.

 

Sensitive Content:

• If a submission addresses sensitive or potentially triggering topics, this must be clearly indicated at the beginning of the piece.

 

Language Usage

• Minor use of languages other than English is permitted; however, all non-English content must be translated either within the text or in footnotes.
